Synopsis:
the longing.
Once Grace and Sam have found each other, they know they must fight to stay together. For Sam, this means a reckoning with his werewolf past. For Grace, it means facing a future that is less and less certain.
the loss.
Into their world comes a new wolf named Cole, whose past is full of hurt and danger. He is wrestling with his own demons, embracing the life of a wolf while denying the ties of being human.
the linger.
For Grace, Sam, and Cole, life is a constant struggle between two forces -- wolf and human -- with love baring its two sides as well. It is harrowing and euphoric, freeing and entrapping, enticing and alarming. As their world falls apart, love is what lingers. But will it be enough?

Well, the mystery of book one is solved :) You'll be as happy as I am knowing that Sam and Grace can be together. But hey, don't get your hope too high 'cause the mystery ain't stop yet.
I was a paper boat drifting in a massive night ocean. [Page 110]
There are no longer two point of views in Linger, but four. You'll meet Cole St. Clair and you'll read trough his point of view and Isabel's (I hope you don't forget her!). The story is more like introducing Cole to the reader. Maggie Stiefvater is no longer focus on Grace, but I think she does love Sam 'cause she makes you get to know Sam better.
As I said on Shiver review [read], Grace is the strong one. She is good at math, she is good at lying, and she seems like handling everything. But now Grace is sick. Sam must take care of everything. He's Beck now. He is worried of Grace's health, he's worried of her parents, and he needs to take care of the wolves. While Sam's worried too much, Isabel takes her part very very well. I know she's not like the main character here, but I do think that she has a big role. She is the one who still has a normal brain. She thinks logically. She's the one who snaps Sam when he doesn't mature enough to act. She's the one who doesn't give a judgment look on Cole's tragic story. Even she's a rebel kind of girl, I admire her. I know how hard it is to keep on living in a crazy world when you only blame yourself for your brother's death.
It is stated on the back of the book that Cole is described as full of hurt and danger. How danger you think he might be? I thought the problem on Linger would be because of Cole, but I was wrong. He actually help. He's a goddamn rock star and also a genius. He is the one who sets Grace free. Well I hope I won't find another point of view beside those four on the next book. Because sometimes it's confusing. There was a moment when I forgot which point of view I was reading. And you don't wanna waste your time to take a look back and re-read it. So not comfortable.

I was a little daydreaming about this book brought into movie. But then I remembered Twilight saga, which is what I like to call as irritating, and I said to myself: no-no. Sometimes movie ruined everything the readers had imagined. The picture above is not an official, just a picture from a fandom. It's hard for me to decide which actor and actress who should play as Sam and Grace. When I found this picture, I can't be disagree. The smart-beautiful-and kind Grace would be perfect to be played by Emma Watson! And I don't really know the guy, so I'll pass ;)
So far, I am relieved I have picked up this series from the American Corner library. It is refreshing book and totally recommended for you who like fantasy :) After a hectic week that I had last week, I can feel any better than being trapped in Mercy Falls, Minnesota.
